During a pride parade in Vancouver, a four-year-old child announced he was a boy. The four-year-old, named Charlie Danger Lloyd, was a female at birth. According to Charlie’s mother, the child expressed he was a boy from a young age.

Following the viral photos, mother, Alaina Bourrel, explained what happened during the parade:

“Once they closed the road, Charlie strutted out with Grammy and they faced the sidelines and after a short struggle, the cannon exploded with blue smoke and biodegradable confetti … Charlie jumped with joy as the crowd cheered him on. He couldn’t believe the love and support he was shown from the bystanders.”

The New York Post reports that even before the pride parade, Charlie had stopped shopping in the girls’ section and “wanted his hair cut short.” Bourrel said:

“He wasn’t your typical little girl. He would play with other boys and the parents would say he was more of a boy than their own children. After lots of expressing his feelings and emotions with me, he decided that he wanted a new wardrobe so we set out to find our new style.”

“He refused to shop in the girl’s section, but was too nervous to shop in the boys … After lots of expressing his feelings and emotions with me, he decided that he wanted a new wardrobe so we set out to find our new style.”

She continued, saying Charlie was a “new child” after the haircut:

“We made an appointment with Lia at Big Bros Barbershop, a trans-owned and operated salon in East Vancouver … After leaving the salon that afternoon, Charlie was a completely new child.”

Bourrel said Charlie’s confidence went up when they changed his wardrobe and appearance:

“We are four months since he began his social transition now … He is still a normal kid that does completely normal little kid things like play with Lego[s], uses his creativity and learns to ride his bike.”

Bourrel added that Charlie is going through “social transitioning,” which includes dressing like a boy.

“His choices were not questioned and he was congratulated and everyone began using new pronouns … We are so lucky to have the circle that we do.”

Chloe Cole, a 17-year-old who is detransitioning, told Fox News Digital:

“If you are considering transitioning, please wait until you are a fully developed adult … Transitioning can damage your body and mind in ways that we may not fully understand.”
